The North Aegean Coexistence Association is the institutional embodiment of a hope that grew from the voluntary labor of animal lovers.
This journey began in 2011 in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale, with a few volunteers feeding stray animals. By 2019, it evolved into an organized volunteer community known as "Ayvacık Canları." This solidarity, which expanded over the years, gained official status in 2025 under the name North Aegean Coexistence Association, reaching an even broader audience.
To date, we have treated and rehomed thousands of animals; improved shelter conditions, established temporary habitats, and managed clinical treatment processes. Our support extends beyond stray animals to include farm animals and wildlife. From nutrition and care to vaccinations and housing, we have met all their needs through voluntary contributions.
We have established a robust volunteer network across various cities in Turkey and abroad. Thanks to our collaborations with reliable institutions in countries such as the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and France, many lives have safely reached their forever homes.
Our association creates space not only for animals but also for those who take this cause to heart. There are many ways to get involved: as a temporary foster, through pet transport support, by volunteering at shelters, or by participating in our events. For those who wish to provide regular support, a membership system is also available.
The North Aegean Coexistence Association advocates for the right to life of every living being. Our goal is to cultivate a fairer, more compassionate, and sustainable culture of coexistence, starting from the North Aegean and growing together.
